The location of the complex is the Klaipėda district, near the main motorway (Vilnius – Klaipėda). Nearby – the territory of Klaipėda airport.
The urban idea of the project is to create the accent of a perspective urban structure. It is anticipated that the projected elliptical volume will stand out among other adjacent, possibly rectangular, building configurations due to its typology. The stand-out volume marks the beginning of the planned structure.
The volume of the cut ellipse is semanticized by the change of materials. The “shell” of the ellipse is a blind stainless steel surface created from “sandwich” panels. The cut ellipse plane is a single facade of glass-aluminum structures. The material solutions of the volume respond to the functional layout: the administrative part is placed along the glass facade, while the production and storage functions are designed in the blind ellipse volume. The administrative part is designed to have three floors and the production part to have one. Both parts are brought to the same height in order to maintain the integrity of the volume.
Another part of the complex is the circle of columns surrounding the building. The colonnade creates an aesthetic quality by giving the building an impression of lightness and dynamism. The colonnade forms a semi-enclosed courtyard in front of the entrance, protecting the entrance space and the building from the strong winds prevailing in the coastal area.
The exterior of the building is dominated by polished metal surfaces and a facade of glass-aluminum structures. Such materials correspond to the image of an innovative, modern factory. Sandwich panels are used for factory walls; for finishing the columns – “alucobond” sheets.
The interior of the building is also maintained in a white-gray color scheme with moderate use of wooden details.
