Have you ever noticed how the rays of sun peak through the pine trees lighting up a path in the wood? This play of light rays and the effect of them falling on the ground is transferred to the hotel spaces: the light falling on the textured interior walls, moving indoors, creates the feeling of being in the woods.
The hotel’s public spaces are a continuation of the external spaces (the resort and nature penetrates inside), so the same finishing materials are used here as it is on the external shell. Meanwhile, the rooms are designed as a textured, soft, quiet area, where a moss-like carpet combines with 3D walls thus interpreting the bark of tree trunks. The lighting in the object, as in the forest, indirectly spreads from everywhere – no one is allowed to disturb the dreamy state (therefore, the lighting follows the Sun – the building itself adjusts the light spectrum in response to the time of day). Due to such lighting objects, there are many spatial works of art created individually for this project by artists, who continue to develop the philosophy of a tactile dream creating.
A separate world, a kind of section of inland dunes (of which and formed Dzūkija) becomes an underground SPA zone -where the sandy terrazzo walls and floors with the uncertainty spreading of fragmented light creates relaxation and ease the atmosphere.
And if the nature does not help to fall asleep, so maybe a sleeping space capsule will – levitating in a soft space on the second floor of a building?
Insomnia tortures us, makes us feel uncomfortable, but it can be shared with a dreaming hotel and thus, for at least a short time, immersed in the healing dreams (not necessarily architectural)
