The villa is located in Vilnius Verkiai Regional Park, in one of the Raguva valleys, on the site of a former wooden villa. The architectural approach is to integrate harmoniously into the environment of the regional park, exploit the existing terrain, enabling the building to hide in an expressive landscape in order to ensure openness to the most picturesque perspectives – hills and forests. The volume solution interpreted traditional architectural forms and proportions – designed two-pitched roof, the roof and wall repeats their planes ratio. Natural finishing materials (wood, natural stone) are used to decorate the building.
The interior is an integral part of the architectural design. The goal is to create a coherent, solid solution. In such a context, the living room and bedroom space follow the volume. Roof planes decorated with wood panels further enhance this feeling. The massive schist base of the stairs and detached wooden steps also interpret the architectural composition. Stair railings visually extend onto the outdoor terraces. Outdoor – indoor. These sensations intertwine and become an essential idea of the interior. The living space seems to melt over the valley. Fills with natural light, expands its space while the repetitive vertical wooden blinds provide a coziness and security experience.
