The sauna house is closed from the yard side of the homestead and maintains maximally open to the lake side. The building seems to “surround and protect” what is here, and the “veil” of vertical wooden elements used to decorate the facades seems to hide the solidblind wall planes, creating a vertical graphic that blends in with the natural surroundings. The partially covered courtyard space creates intimacy and a sense of privacy. This feeling is further enhanced by the wooden terrace with an integrated outdoor hot tub.
Emphasis is placed on the merging of external and internal spaces together.
